MACRO compatible with Internet Explorer 7.0 and SQL Server 2005
InferMed today announced that MACRO 3.0, its powerful yet very user-friendly electronic data capture tool, has completed compatibility validation against two significant Microsoft platforms.
Both Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 7.0 and SQL Server 2005, have been validated for use against MACRO 3.0, which can now be fully deployed across its extensive range of online and offline configuration options. The Internet Explorer 7.0 announcement is supplemental to the successful validation completed against MACRO’s Web Data Entry/Review module in early December 2006.
Internet Explorer 7.0 features greater options for user configuration and a number of important security facilities that led to its release as a Windows Critical Update for existing Microsoft operating systems. The second validated platform, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, includes benefits such as increased performance and greater scalability, along with highly flexible security controls.
Dr Robert Dunlop, Clinical and Operations Director said, “with a diverse customer base spanning technology transfer and ASP customers, online and offline configuration options, as well as both public and commercial IT infrastructures, it is essential that we consider the needs of all of our clients in our approach to new platform validations. SQL Server 2005 for example became a priority after discussion at a recent MACRO Academic Research Focus Group meeting. This is one of the many reasons why, for InferMed, a day-to-day relationship with our client base and continued participation in activities such as focus groups and user Open Days will always remain vital to our product strategy.”
Dr Dunlop concluded by adding “We continue to keep abreast of the latest Windows-based platform releases and intend to announce further good news on supported platforms in the very near future”.
