The MACROTM electronic data capture solution has been used in commercial, academic and not-for-profit clinical research since 1999. InferMed continues to develop MACRO to meet the business needs of pharmaceutical companies, CROs, academic medical centres, clinical trials units, therapeutic area research groups, and charitable organisations.
MACRO is particularly well established in the not-for-profit sector where it is used by leading academic research centres for not-for-profit trials and patient registries and is seen as the solution of choice for many UK CTUs and academic research groups. Of the 46 UKCRC (UK Clinical Research Collaboration)-registered clinical trials units in the UK, nearly one-third have chosen to adopt MACRO to provide an appropriately validated system for running clinical trials.
Also in a 2010 ECRIN (European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network) survey MACRO was shown to be the most widely used academic unit CDMS application in Europe.
MACRO supports all trials, from Phase I through IV, scaling from a single site to large multi-national trials.

MACRO has been designed to support the requirements of internationally recognised ICH Good Clinical Practice and FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
