The Clinical Trial Center Maastricht the first to install MACRO v4 London, UK, 05 May 2010...Today InferMed announced the installation of MACRO v4, the latest version of its electronic data capture solution, at the Clinical Trial Center Maastricht (CTCM). CTCM becomes the first InferMed customer to receive this new release and to benefit from the significantly increased interoperability and performance, greater scalability and enhanced ease of deployment and usability that is in MACRO v4. CTCM has been a MACRO user for 3 years and is running 10 studies using the application across a range of therapeutic areas, including diabetes, glaucoma and smoking abstinence. With MACRO at the centre of its clinical research programme, CTCM has other plans for developing its use of the application. At Maastricht University Hospital it is envisioned that MACRO will be integrated with various items of patient monitoring equipment and data imported directly into MACRO tables via the MACRO application programming interface. Elsewhere an XML integration project is planned and the implementation of a multi-language study where data collection eForm labels and data entry guidelines and prompts are in the local European languages of the site. Duane Lawrence, CEO of InferMed Limited, commented, "We are delighted to see the first installation of MACRO v4 and congratulate CTCM on being our first customer to use this latest release of the software. We look forward to discussing the benefits of MACRO v4 further with other existing customers and to introducing it to potential new users over the coming weeks." Joek Hulsmann, Manager of Clinical Trial Services at CTCM, added, "With MACRO v4 we can take the next step to providing better service, higher performance and more functionality to our academic research physicians. MACRO v4 is perfectly suited to fulfil our vision where different clinical information systems are integrated, such as MedDRA, TENALEA, the EHR or clinical data warehousing. Furthermore, MACRO v4 is designed with international standards such as CDISC and SDTM in mind, which make interchanging data with other systems easier. That is why we positioned MACRO v4 as the main platform to run De Maastricht Studie, a large diabetes study with over 10,000 subjects." More information about the launch of MACRO v4 can be read in the release
